Pharmacists in General Practice - We are pleased to announce that Rowner Surgery now has a pharmacist working alongside our clinicians. Pharmacists work as part of the general practice team to resolve day-to-day medicine issues and consult with and treat patients directly. This includes providing extra help to manage long-term conditions, advice for those on multiple medications and better access to health checks. Having a clinical pharmacist in GP practice means GPs can focus their skills where they are most needed, for example on diagnosing and treating patients with complex conditions. This will help GPs manage the demands on their time.
TEXT MESSAGE SERVICE - We are delighted to announce that we are now able to send you a text message to remind you about routine appointments. Our aim is to reduce the amount of patients who do not attend for their routine appointments. - Please make sure that we have an up to date mobile number. Please note we may also contact you from time to time by text message with regard to vaccination reminders and other services.
Availability of routine appointments - from the beginning of June, each day, 2 routine appointments will be released 48 hours in advance for each clinician in turn. This is to offer a better and more 'responsive' service for our patients.
We are pleased to announce that we have a new Practice Nurse starting in December who specialises in all Chronic Disease Management and minor illnesses. In the meantime we continue to provide Diabetic nurse cover and if you are due for a diabetic review, please contact the surgery to make an appointment.
