Young people aged 18-24 are particularly at risk from disease as they often come into contact with many new people in confined environments such as pubs and clubs, festivals and university halls. Students starting university for the first time are particularly at risk if unvaccinated. There have been outbreaks of measles and mumps in halls of residence. Young people will need to of had 2 doses of the MMR to protect them against measles, they also need their MenACWY Vaccine and a good understanding of the signs and symptoms of Meningitis and septicaemia.
